2023 Event Schedule
Founded by the Ivey Alumni Network in 2010, Global Ivey Day (GID) is about connecting and celebrating with classmates, friends, colleagues, and with the Ivey community. This year, there is even more reason to celebrate as we commemorate Ivey's 100th Anniversary! We're looking back on our 100 years of legacy in education, while very much looking forward to the next century and the future we see ahead.
Lots of exciting events, both in person and virtual, have been planned for you by dedicated alumni volunteers and the School (see schedule below). Registration is open!
The Ivey Alumni Network (IAN) is committed to supporting equity, diversity, and inclusion among students and graduates. As we celebrate Global Ivey Day, the IAN encourages you to explore which traditional lands you are situated on, and consider your relationship to them and their history. A great starting point is https://native-land.ca/
The IAN acknowledges that the Ivey Business School at Western University is located on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabek, Haudenosaunee, Lūnaapéewak, and Attawandaron peoples, on lands connected with the London Township and Sombra Treaties of 1796 and the Dish with One Spoon Covenant Wampum. This land continues to be home to diverse Indigenous peoples (e.g. First Nations, Métis, and Inuit) whom we recognize as contemporary stewards of the land and vital contributors of our society.
Many in-person events are planned in cities around the world this year! Chapters and Ambassadors are hosting fun and engaging Global Ivey Day events in honour of Ivey’s 100th anniversary. All alumni are invited to attend no matter your location (unless otherwise stipulated). Please note dates/times (some events may not take place on May 11).
Week of Global Ivey Day: May 8-12
In support of Ivey’s Value of Community, and with a desire to do good by giving back, we’re encouraging alumni around the world to Give Back by Giving Blood the week of GID. Alumni in Canada (excluding Quebec) can find their local Canadian Blood Services at blood.ca (Quebec info is here); alumni globally are encouraged to explore options in their region. Our collective impact will go a very long way in the lives of others!

If the world of business is a sport, entrepreneurs are often the ones making the rules. That was definitely the case for Trent Kitsch, MBA ’07, who changed the men’s underwear industry forever with the introduction of Saxx Underwear. Born and raised in Kelowna, B.C., Kitsch has always had the energy, passion, and determination that marks out the best entrepreneurs. Throughout his still young career, Kitsch has managed to not only reinvent age-old products, but also score major wins in early, burgeoning industries.
A serial entrepreneur, Kitsch joins the Entrepreneur Podcast, Legends Series, to share his journey of building a brand during his MBA, and how his ability to recognize opportunity has helped him be at the right place, at the right time.
Thursday, May 11 from 9-9:30 a.m. ET
Over 13,000 alumni have participated in the Ivey Pledge Ceremony and Ring Tradition since its introduction by the Ivey Alumni Network in 2004. This virtual event provides alumni with the opportunity to recite — or recommit to — the Ivey Pledge to act honourably and ethically, and receive a unique, individually numbered Ivey Ring after doing so.
Registration is now closed.
Thursday, May 11 from 10-11 a.m. ET
In this virtual session, Dr. Nadine de Gannes, HBA '09, and Dr. Erin Huner will discuss the importance of measurement as part of EDI strategy, as well as new ways we might need to think about measurement in order to better understand the impact and outcomes of EDI-centred work in organizations.
Registration is now closed.
Thursday, May 11 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. ET
The evolution of work is accelerating faster than organizations are adapting. Transformative technological change, shifting personal priorities, troubling economic trends, and fluid approaches to career growth have put many leaders on the defensive as they attempt to reinforce a more traditional employee value proposition.
As with any disruption, this uncertainty presents unique opportunities for organizations to create competitive advantage through creativity and innovation. From full-time remote work to unlimited time off, we are witnessing a series of far-reaching experiments that have yet to play out.
Join Ivey faculty members for a complimentary livestream exploring how organizations can reinvent their approach to work. What can we infer from case examples, historical precedent, and our knowledge of the human condition? How can leaders predict success and place informed bets? How do you attract, motivate, and retain the workforce of tomorrow?
Thursday, May 11 from 2-3 p.m. ET
