Corporate Sustainability in a Time of Turbulence - Toronto

Thursday, May 8, 3:30 - 6:00 p.m., CIBC Square Toronto, 81 Bay Street, Suite 3700, Toronto, ON

Corporate sustainability faces a critical moment. 2025 has witnessed challenges to ESG and climate agendas, signaling a rapidly evolving corporate landscape that could deeply impact ESG strategies, disclosure requirements, and compliance efforts. Reactions from companies and sustainability practitioners are varied; some are walking back their climate commitments while others are staying their course. Others still are mum on their net zero progress. Yet, ESG continues to be material to investors and stakeholders when evaluating a company’s ability to navigate long-term risks and opportunities while maintaining operational performance. With tariff threats, new disclosure standards, and increased scrutiny around greenwashing, we must ask: where are the current business opportunities?

In this session, three Ivey alumni in sustainability leadership roles will unpack these developments and share their views on the impact to Canadian firms, value creation, and the future of ESG.
